For us, sustainability is more about progress than perfection. It involves taking meaningful steps forward and doing our part to inspire others with boldness, vision, and action.
Behind every stopper we create lies an exceptional forest, the Montado, and a remarkable tree, the cork oak (Quercus Suber L.). They are the origin of cork, a 100% natural, recyclable, and renewable material that we combine with other complementary materials to craft the finest cork stoppers for premium spirits.
Every year, we publish a comprehensive sustainability report that reflects our commitment to ethical and responsible practices, seeking a balance between nature, technology, and science.
Our approach to ecological responsibility, decarbonization, circular economy, and regeneration of natural systems is not just a goal: it’s an essential part of our mission to create a more sustainable future.
From responsible forest management to innovative product development, we ensure that every step of the process aligns with the principles of sustainable development — protecting the planet, benefiting communities, and fostering prosperity.
As part of our ongoing sustainability efforts, Amorim Top Series continues to develop innovative solutions that enhance the performance of cork stoppers while reducing environmental impact.
As the world's largest cork producer, Amorim has played a pioneering role in cork recycling. The group first launched a cork stopper recycling programme in Portugal in 2008 - Green Cork - and similar initiatives were quickly adopted in other countries, such as the United States and Canada (ReCork and The Cork Collective), France (EcoBouchon), Italy (Etico), Spain (Cork2Cork), South Africa (Amorim Cork Life), and Australia (ReCork).
