Amorim Top Series 10 years celebration timeline

ATS is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2020, against the backdrop of the Amorim Group’s 150th anniversary.

It has been an extremely intense decade.  Here is a brief timeline of some of the main milestones achieved to date:
 
2020 – Clients - Deluxe wood-and-cork stoppers are used to seal hundreds of products worldwide, including the four different award-winning Bourbons from Elijah Craig, the world-renowned Kentucky distillery
 
2019 - Innovation: launch of TAP series, a new line of smart stoppers with an integrated microchip, which includes data that can be read with a smart phone using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.
 
2019 – Innovation: launch of new stoppers designed to maximise the sensory experience: Sense Tops, Ambiance and Evolutive series
 
2019 – Innovation: launch of new 100% Wooden stoppers
 
2019 - Communication: the new website, dedicated to sensory experiences, including the ground-breaking Inspiration Box that enables clients to test out hundreds of available solutions from our Design Centre

2019 - Setup of plasma technololgy and a new craft assembly area at Amorim Top Series France for top end products, in order to strengthen our offer of luxury closures for the market

2018 - Innovation: launch of 100% Sustainable capsulated stoppers, which use new bio-based polymers derived exclusively from renewable and / or biodegradable sources.
 
2018 - Innovation: launch of Spice Box
 
2018 - Packaging: launch of new capsulated stoppers with bold pink designs to respond to new trends in the spirits market
 
2018 - Sponsorship – ATS sponsors Gin Magazine 2018 Hall of Fame Awards
 
2017 - Sponsorship - ATS sponsors Whisky Magazine’s 2017 Hall of Fame awards

2017 - The purchase and integration of Sodiliège within ATS prove the will to develop our activity and proximity in one of the main markets for spirits: France
 
2017 – Innovation - Ambitious refurbishment of ATS’ premises
 
2016 – Innovation – launch of “Whitetop” stoppers designed specifically for white spirits. One of the clients to use this new stopper is Windspiel Premium Dry Gin - that won a "Special Mention" in the Excellent Communications Design category of the German Design Awards
 
2016 – Innovation – launch of Freedecor service, a revolutionary printing technology for capsulated stoppers, that enables any design or image to be printed on the stopper
 
2015 – Communication. TopSeries unveils new promotional video, “TopSeries – Luxury by Nature”
 
2015 – Clients – ATS Prestige stopper used in KWV Nexus 30 year old brandy - the world’s first commercially available 30-year old brandy containing potstill up to 42 years old
 
2015 – Commercial ATS seals new distribution agreements that further reinforce its local presence, including distribution agreements inked with Gaasch Packaging for the Scottish market, in Russia with Moscow firm Rusvinpack, in Mexico with Acusticos & Sellantes, in Brazil with Four Trees Inteligência & Valor and in Poland with ENOTECH.
 
2013 – Innovation. TopSeries stoppers certified by the FSC. Since 2009, Amorim is the world’s first packaging company to be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The FSC seal can be found in all of Amorim’s ranges of cork stoppers including, first and foremost, the TopSeries range.
 
2013 – Clients. Top Series® seals Glenfiddich 125th Anniversary Edition
 
2012 – Innovation. Amorim Top Series Unit launches new Top Series® website. The new website includes My Top Series - the world’s first drawing simulator for capsulated cork stoppers
 
2011 – Clients. ATS provides Prestige stoppers for the “Superlatively Divine Brandy/Prince Wittgenstein”, an exclusive limited edition of a 50-year-old brandy
 
2011 – Communication. Top Series® collection of capsulated stoppers for premium spirits is presented in Emballage 2010 – Salon International de l’Emballage, the largest and most prestigious international packaging fair in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
 
2010 - Clients. ATS’ Prestige stoppers selected to seal the world's oldest malt whiskey - Gordon and Macphail's Mortlach 70-Year-Old.
 
2010 - Clients: Prestige cork stoppers supplied by ATS are chosen to seal the world’s most expensive whisky - Dalmore Trinitas 64.
 
2010 - Corticeira Amorim develops a collection of luxury capsulated stoppers. The new natural cork stopper, called Top Series®, is aligned with the group’s strategic commitment to innovation and is the result of cutting-edge technologies. It is designed to meet the needs of the producers of premium spirits.
