Four-Star OK Biobased Certification Highlights Amorim Top Series’ Commitment to Sustainability

As part of our commitment to sustainability, Amorim Top Series natural and micro-agglomerated closures present OK Biobased four-star rating.

To achieve OK Biobased certification, a product must contain a substantial percentage of biological content. This certification is determined by measuring the carbon-14 content, confirming the product's natural origin. The four-star rating indicates that over 80% of the carbon in our cork stoppers comes from renewable sources.

Biobased products, like our cork stoppers, typically have a lower carbon footprint because the plants and renewable resources used in their production absorb CO2 during growth. This not only decreases dependence on non-renewable and fossil resources, but also supports environmental sustainability.

Cork is a natural and renewable material harvested without cutting down trees, aligning perfectly with the OK Biobased certification criteria. Moreover, the cork stopper production process contributes to CO2 capture, overall resulting in a negative carbon footprint, which is highly beneficial for the environment.

As interest in sustainable products grows among consumers and businesses, the OK Biobased certification enhances transparency and trust, demonstrating our commitment to high environmental standards.
Thanks to this internationally recognized certification by TÜV Austria, our customers can choose a product of high quality and environmentally friendly performance.
